I'm back! What's been happening part 1!!

Ok so I know I haven't wrote a post in over 9months I know it's crazy and its been a crazy year. Since November alone we have moved 3 times to 3 different states!!

We went from north dandalup just down the road to pinjarra, after 3months after tommy being told his company wouldn't sponsor him, but on of his friends told him he could get a job in Qld with sponsorship doing the same job. So after thinking hard we decided to take the chance and just go for it!

And a week later after giving my notice at the bakery we were on the road, ill post more on this later, but 5days later we arrived in Dalby Qld. Tommy started work straight away and within a week I had a job as p/t assistant manager of Dough-licious pizzeria. The one problem was I was only getting 12 hours a week and it was when tommy was home from work, and a 3hour shift, and I had mixed feelings about it but they promised me that after march I would be full time and moved up to manager after another month.

And even though it was crap at the start I was glad it was going to get better and I would have a good job again with a good wage again, not that I hated the bakery, I loved it there and working with all the girls and Narda was so good to me. I had learned heaps working here and will take a lot of that to future jobs I will get.

But I was sick on being on a visa restriction were I could work for only 6months and I seemed to be getting jobs where I was on either a low wage or didn't get enough hours and even though this would be a slight step up at least I would be full time eventually!! But the pizzeria was hard at the start there wasn't enough organisation and we just didn't seem to gel right, some nights were great and then others not so. Then one night I got a call form the owners asking if I could run the place for the next 2night as the other manager was sick, and it was horrible, I hadn't made dough since I had stared and I didn't leave it out long enough to rise. Later on that night both I came back from doing delivery after delivery to discover the new dough was making bubbles every where and the kids were remaking loads of pizzas, I just wanted the ground to eat me up, at least we were up at the til on the end of the night.

And then the next day I was in close with my house mate and I got a call, it was tommys mam and I knew something was wrong straight away as it was the middle of the night in Ireland. Tommys grandad was after dying and I could hear the hurt in her voice, but he had a good life and he was nearly 96. When I got off the phone I had to ring tommy and break the news to him and the surprising thing was he took it better than I did! That night was horrible in work again but enough of that!

When I got home that night to talk to tommy we spent nearly 3 hours talking about what to do and if we should go home for the burial or not, and end the end we decided to go as we both weren't happy and we should go and support his family while we could both take the time off under the circumstances it would be better to go home now than if we changed jobs we would be able to get time off later in the year when we were looking at going.

But it's getting close to my bed time so ill wright part 2 tomorrow:)
Night everyone!

My soon to be sewing machine:-)

Sew when I was at the quilt show the other week, I looked at the sewing machines and left there even more confused! I had kinda had decided between either Janome or Viking. after a couple of sales people at the show I had kinda decided to get a more basic machine and in a couple of years upgrading to a better machine with the same company so that all the feet would be compatible. I really liked the Viking Sapphire range especially the high end version and the Janome Horizon, I no I no I'm only a beginner, but you always want the best don't you!

Sew a couple of days later I while sitting around at home I decided to call into the local Janome dealer, while they still had the sale on and after a long talk with the woman in the shop I decided to put a deposit on the mc4900, which I love, I used to used Anne-Marie's one when I took her class last year, and will do every thing I need at the moment and its mid range so I wont need to upgrade for a long long time! And it come with all the feet so after I buy it I don't need to spend and extra $150 on feet, which i would if I had bought the one for $500.

I cant wait to pay it off and bring it home! The best thing was I saved $300 because it was on sale and I'm getting a free fabric scissors worth $40 which will come in handy because I want to try making my own clothes. Which I don't have a clue, but I'm sick of going into shop and finding the clothes don't fit in the right places, right?

Sew you guys can expect a lot more sewing going on around here soon!

Natural Beauty

So I have been listening to the Jillian Mitchell pod cast for a while now and its not all about fitness! a couple of episodes ago she had her make up artist Paige Padgett on, and she talked about all the chemicals in our make up and skin care, scary stuff. like for example there id 4000 different chemicals just in fragrance!!

And at the moment I feel like I'm going through some sort of transformation or change, I not sure whats happening but I know its a good thing.
I want to be the best that I can be, that means I need to really start looking after my self, I want to go back to basics, less processed crap in my life and with Tommy working his new job where he'll be away 4 weeks and back one, its the perfect time for me to start this because I can walk straight past the biscuit aisle with out feeling guilty!

First thing I did was change to a more natural skincare, I was in Myer one day and had a chat to one of the girls about natural products and she recommended Therapy for my skincare and Nude by nature for my make up. Unfortunately Therapy is out of my price range at the moment, but the lovely lady said it always come up on some sort of special, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that!

But I was in Friendlies chemist the other day and I seen the Sukin range and I was running out on moisturiser, so ended up going home with a day and night (with free cleanser!) moisturiser for like $30 and it all natural so win win!! So I'll let you know how I'm going with that, and maybe I won't need therapy after all and lets face it who doesn't love a beauty bargain:-)

And it just so happened when I moved over here Crystal give me the Nude by nature basics foundation, bronzer and the finishing powder plus the brush. I left it sitting there because I wanted to use up my current stuff, but the other day I was cleaning up the bathroom and decided to dump all the stuff I have replaced.

I used the Nude make up when I went to my course last week and I loved it, it give lovey coverage and i loved the color of the foundation. I was worried about using powder as all I've ever used before is liquid stuff I'll have to post a pic the next time I do my make up!

tom, tom, tom, tom, tom, tommy, tom, tom..........tomm

After 6years together, I'm still crazy about him! And if your wondering about the title, you know the tv show 2 and 1/2 men?

Well one day he changed it to mel, mel, mel, mel, mel, melly, mel, mel.................Mel, and its stuck ever since, his changed a lot more song s to randomly adding my name to it but that, I think will always be the famous one, I even have friends greet me with mel, mel, mel,.., namely Podge, Tom Tom, Ian, Tony and sometime even Karen!

Think this is the 1st pic of us as a couple!

So it all began when I was in Kildalton College, studying equine and one of his best friends johnny was studying farming. tommy and peter came up one night to visit johnny and we all went down to the local as you do. I remember getting into the back seat of his cilo, my friend also had the hots for him so i let her on (ya i totally had the hots for him the second i saw him, but i wasnt long out of a relationship and I didnt think he would be interest in little old me!) so he started the car and next thing green day came blareing out of the cd player and I was def in like with him!(i was big into my music then ask anyone that knows me!)

So we got to the pub and my friend was chatting away to him, while I was just standing there trying not to drool!,
to seem interested, so I was away in my own world, when next thing the friend is like oh mel has a tat, show him your horse(sparky)mel, on my lower back, "thats really cool" and we got to talking a bit but i was revesered because I was trying to be a good friend, even though i couldn't take my eyes off him all night.

Fast forward a while later and i was invited down to Wexford to his sisters birthday/ housewarming party. johnny brought me down after college and dropped me off at the nissan garage where Tommy was looking at buying a newer car,(Johnny had to go n work on the farm) so there i was looking at cars with him and his sister Rachael and her then bf david, and i barely know them,(ya i was just a little nervous about not f@*king up or looking like a totally idiot) I ended up staying at Rachels house that night and spent the whole saturday helping the lads get the place ready for the party, naturally I spent most of the with Tommy and we really started to click. I had a great weekend in Wexford, decided i definutally would back (little did I know I'd be living there for the next 5&1/2years!)

About 3weeks later he took a spin up to the college to visit and we kissed! i couldn't believe it actually happened I was nearly in denial!  The next weekend I got a text off him asking if I wanted to go for a spin?  I replied sorry I'd love to put I'm not in college this weekend Im in Clare. He replied but sure I have to run up to Waterford anyway! (for those of you that don't know Ireland, its 40mins from Barntown to waterford and then another 3hours to my parents house!) We had a great weekend and my bestie Una give him the tumbs up!

About a month later he picked me up from college to come to Clare with me for the weekend and at somestage during the trip he turns to me and says " I suppose were going out now!" You cant beat the Irish charm!

So fast forward 5years and half, I got a stud placement in Redmonstown, Wexford, Tommy moved in and I made Wexford my home, when I found out I had spinal degeneration in my neck and I was advised to change jobs, buts thats another story. We talked about it and decide to give Australia a go and the rest as they say is history!

His gotten me to try new things that I wouldn't have done 6years ago like  learn to ride his motorbike or get so much better at swimming i can actually tread water now, swim out to the diving float at the beach or the enclosed area and jump off (a year ago i would have said there is no way im doing that!)and encouraged me to do what makes me happy even though I don't know that that might be! And most importantly his been there for me when I've been a bluppering mess, like the time I found out about my back!

So we have been here nearly 3months, and we are with each other 24/7, I know that might drive some people crazy, but I'm kinda surprised we haven't got bored of each other, even though we have feck all to talk about, mostly My Kitchen Rules(which we cant get enough of!  YA!), work and conversations about how bold! we are, which Crystal gets a great kick outta!

So Tommy hopefully by now you have found your present and the boycott!(had to get you something small to through you off the scent!) and I know your going to kill me for writhing this on my blog but you wouldn't let me get you a card that day we went shopping, so I went one better that my 'emotional shite' or my 'meaningful shit'on a scrap of paper and but the 'meaningful shite' on the blog!

And here's to another six years!
Love you!

Its the crazy spontaneous things like this is why i wouldn't have him any other way!
